So I've been keeping an eye on the Claimed Bounties section lately and a certain one has caught my attention for a while now.
This is the bounty in question. Just yesterday it was still under the Claimed section and was pending approval but today it was already gone.
There are two scenarios that could have led to this: 1) The bounty poster approved the claim. 2) The claim has been forced by the bounty hunter. Now, I'd normally give the benefit of the doubt to the hunter and considering his clever choice of words, "will scan soon," this seemed like the obvious thing to do. So the seven days are up and there's still no sign of the
bounty poster, which leads me to believe that the claim has been forced by the
bounty hunter. However, this is not enough to prove anything so I decided to search for it. There are no signs of the doujin being posted to the galleries and it's also not listed in any of his uploads.
I don't really want to accuse him of anything, but it's pretty hard not to put 1 + 1 together.
Of course, there's also the possibility that he plans to upload it later and if that's the case then I apologize in advance. But if that's the intention then I really question the motive for claiming it so early. Why not just send a PM to the poster to reserve the bounty and claim it once you have it scanned? Something about all this smells pretty fishy and it's not my rotting goldfish either. I'd like to believe this was an honest mistake but unfortunately the evidence says otherwise.
@TenboroIt's pretty apparent that the current bounty system is still flawed in many ways. You should probably at least implement the suggestion I made a while ago or a variant of it:

You bring up a good point. If logic applies to the bounty system then it should be required to be reviewed by a bounty moderator before the force acceptance gets approved. Similar to how a bounty moderator needs to review a dispute before rejecting it, that should also apply here. Instead of automatically awarding the hunter after he/she makes a force acceptance when the seven days are over, it'd be best to get a moderator to look at it first. Then again, I'm making a big assumption that logic is being applied here so I could be wrong.
In light of this, I suggest that bounty posters should also put in some effort when responding to a claim. We are always heckling hunters that accept bounties with no comments but what about posters? This is beneficial in that it shows you care about the bounty and also makes the distinction that a human has accepted it, rather than being force accepted by the hunter. I added this:
QUOTE
5. Don't be lazy. Put a little bit of effort to show that you actually care about the bounty. Writing a simple comment or even a smiley would suffice when accepting claims.
as the fifth rule in the guidelines under the bounty poster section. Let me know what you all think.
