New Season Notes (2021 S1 -> 2021 S2)

The following things have carried over from the previous Isekai season to the current Isekai season:

- Credit balance + value of item + equipment inventory, capped to 1 million

- Leftover trophy value for Snowflake's Shrine

The following things have been added to Persistent:

- Peerless equipment and all soulfused equipment

- A peerless voucher for the Top 10 tower floor clears (plus two people within 5 floors of the 10th position):

CODE
Cleared Floor 178: youshi1 (3146277)
Cleared Floor 122: Grandmasters (4697311)
Cleared Floor 104: Bolide (2309354)
Cleared Floor 103: conatime (5595606)
Cleared Floor 101: Nezu (867559)
Cleared Floor 100: Altair.AC (3905888)
Cleared Floor 100: sabregimp (188779)
Cleared Floor 100: ace_amuro (896192)
Cleared Floor 99: Treesion (707354)
Cleared Floor 98: Nonfar (3861631)
Cleared Floor 97: Xeda (4388600)
Cleared Floor 95: P-Killer (2968580)

(One person was DQed for cheating.)

The following things will carry over to Persistent when this update has been deployed there:

- Any unspent peerless vouchers

- Credit balance + value of item + equipment inventory exceeding 1 million

- Primary stat bonuses and a global damage bonus depending on the number of tower floors cleared

Isekai Changes

- The experience bonus on Isekai is now tied to your progress in The Tower. Instead of a fixed 500% bonus, it now starts out without a bonus, and every floor you clear increases the bonus by 20%.

- The number of rounds in the Tower has been rescaled and now caps at 100 for Floor 40. Past Floor 40, the difficulty boost (monster health/damage) is now scaled up by 5% per floor.

- You can now only clear the Tower once per day normally, and twice during Last Spurt. (If you start a Tower battle before midnight UTC and end it after, it will count as yesterday's clear.)

- Corrected the Tower Mode to have the regular (same as arenas) credit drop multiplier instead of the decreased Item World/Grindfest one.

- The end-of-season permanent stat bonuses are now officially fixed to floor level rather than being competitive. The Top 10 peerless voucher and per-floor damage bonus remain unchanged.
-- Clear Floor 50: +3 to all primary stats
-- Clear Floor 40: +2 to all primary stats
-- Clear Floor 30: +1 to all primary stats

- The double stamina regeneration was removed from the "Early Bird" bonus period (the 8-9 days between the solstice/start of season and the end of the month). Instead, the bonus equipment droprate during this period was changed from 2x to 5x.

- Stamina drain on Isekai was increased to 0.04 per round with "Normal" stamina and 0.06 per round with "Great" stamina.

- The base monster droprate on Isekai was doubled.

- Removed the crystals tab on the Isekai item shop

- Equipment keys are now unique to Isekai and to each Isekai season

Arenas

- Added two new arenas:
-- Level 400 locked to PFUDUR +50% with a 2x T7 equipment clear bonus
-- Level 500 locked to PFUDOR +100% with a 3x T7 equipment clear bonus and a new title

- Arena round counts were rescaled and now cap at 100. This includes a tweak to the arena monster scaling where you effectively skip the first 25% of arena rounds compared to the old scaling.

- A Dance With Dragons now forces PFUDOR difficulty, and the granted Dovahkiin title now has the same bonuses as Godslayer in addition to the skill. (You don't have to reobtain the skill.)

- Low-level arenas now become unavailable as you level up, mostly to prevent needing to show multiple pages of irrelevant challenges and making people feel the need to clear them every day. At level 500, Endgame (level 100) and up will still be available.

Misc

- When crystal or chaos upgrading monsters in the monster lab, you can now do +5 levels by holding shift and +10 levels by holding control. If you do not have sufficient crystals/tokens for all level upgrades, it will abort it. If there are fewer than 5/10 levels until the cap, it will increase it to the cap.

- If your equipment inventory is full, equipment drops will now be generated and auto-sold instead of being discarded or replaced with an item drop, unless it qualified for auto-salvage in which case that will happen instead.

- Stamina is now considered "Great" above 60, and increases stamina drain by 50% rather than 100%.

- Stamina is now considered "Exhausted" if it drops below 1 (used to be 10). You cannot start a new battle if your stamina is below 2.

- Switched HV to use a new refactored core library. This is the first part of the site to use this, so let me know if you encounter any new weirdness.

Post-Update Fixes

- The exp modifier was wrong (started at 0.2 instead of 1.0) and has been corrected.

- Due to an issue with the import script, only the actual credit balance was used to initialize the starting credits for Isekai. This will be fixed for the next season to include the inventory sell value; for this season, that will be added to Persistent instead.

- Corrected a glitchy reset/readout of the "daily clears" tower counter. (It would still let you start a new one, so this wouldn't have had any real effect before Last Spurt.)

- Made some changes to stamina consumption.

- Corrected an issue where arenas going unavailable would mess with the requirement logic for the next arena.

- Tweaked the arena monster scaling to effectively skip the first 25% of arena rounds

- The "difficulty boost" health multiplier is no longer applied to boss-type monsters that already have a separate health multiplier. They still receive the damage multiplier. This includes the Level 400 and 500 arena bosses, as well as the "schoolgirls".

- You can no longer start an item world if doing so would bring you below 1 stamina. (This would prevent you from getting anything.)

Particularly with regards to the new core library, there could be various issues with this update, so please post here if anything seems broken.

(Again, note that stuff hasn't been added to Persistent yet.)

Haha, no, you can clear it with dw too, even with exq/mag equips and no weaken

Could you expand the boundary for rested stamina a bit, then?

It's not really a problem for me, but I'm worried it might hurt many others. This basically means to compete, you'd have to play a bit in the morning, bit in the evening, to remain within the 80-99 range. That doesn't really test anyone's skill or effort - just whether they have free time multiple times a day to stop themselves capping their stamina.

I cleared up to floor 90 last season as a dual wield player using random low-forged shades (and even a leather chestpiece)...

Floor 90 has level 900 monsters, it was PFUDOR+10, and it had 390 rounds. Tower has the item world damage modifier (2% increase per round). PFUDOR+10 increased damage by 50%, and by the last round, the item world damage mod increased it by another 780%. So the total damage % was something like 1320% (if the round-damage mod multiplied with the PFUDOR+10 mod - couldn't really tell).

Then I switched to 1H, because it was much safer.

For reference, the 1000th round of a PFUDOR grindfest is only 450% damage, with level 500 monsters at most. And obviously, DWD is just normal damage.

So no, I don't think it's that difficult.

Hmm. Well, okay, I made some tweaks to it...

- Stamina is now considered "Great" above 60, and increases stamina drain by 50% rather than 100%.

So now you kinda have a strategic option where you can keep it on "Great" for more EXP or "Normal" for more drops, for the same consumption.

for you, maybe not difficult,

but it's not easy for most people,

if it easy, then a lot of people will clean the high floor like you,

in fact, I clean 27 floor, and I get the 257th

the most people in Isekai, just want play low Difficulty to get the Trophies

but this time, we decrease the Rounds to 100, and forces PFUDOR difficulty in DWD,

it reduce the Trophies amount that people only play the low difficulty

In Isekai 0.87, we reduce Hp of schoolgirl to reduce the max playtime

In this version, we forces PFUDOR difficulty in DWD to increase the max playtime

Do you know how many people could't clean the PFUDOR grindfest in level 3XX

Is absorb working properly? Not sure if I'm getting hit by non-magical skills or if absorb isn't working:

Nabe Shogun casts Wait a bit longer, and hits you for 5192 holy damage
Your spike shield hits I Can See You for 102 points of fire damage.
I Can See You uses Speed Shoot, and hits you for 1324 crushing damage
Your spike shield hits Hdmi Type-a for 5 points of fire damage.
You counter Hdmi Type-a for 2622 points of void damage.
You parry the attack from Hdmi Type-a.
Your spike shield hits 512-core Volta Gpu for 27 points of fire damage.
512-core Volta Gpu hits you for 282 piercing damage.
Spirit Stance Engaged
Your spike shield hits Nabe Shogun for 148 points of fire damage.
Nabe Shogun uses The order ingredients r added, and hits you for 1024 slashing damage
You gain the effect Absorbing Ward.

EDIT: maybe it is working? possibly the attacks above were non-magical
Shooting Star casts Speed Sabre, but is absorbed. You gain 15 Magic Points.

EDIT: turns out it was because i didn't enable better absorb so the absorb chance was less than 70%

That low-level arenas will be disabeled is bad news for me. I prefer rushing through some of the short ones over doing a single longer one (have not played much lately, but this is not going to increase my motivation to do so).

"Wait a bit longer" seems to be the only spell used in that round, and Absorb isn't guaranteed to work (according to wiki 60% base chance and up to 90% with abilities).

I have some suggestions.

Could we have the option to edit our quick bars mid-battle? (Both temporally and permanently)

Could we have the option to quick import our settings from persistent? (Leaving "bookmarks" for abilities not yet possible)

Could the HUD be marked with a ♦ symbol somewhere whenever a mana gem is in our possession?

This can be simulated with a userscript (Monsterbation offers this functionality right now).

Would be useful.

Also something that can be done with a userscript. A gem icon & hotkey is part of Monsterbation by default.

I didn't like this new stamina consumption system. Stamina decreases too fast. dry.gif

It should be as it is currently in Persistent (0.02 for stamina<80 and 0.04 for stamina>80).

Could you add Caffeinated Candy (Untradeable) as a possible drop? That would help a little. rolleyes.gif

I think this is quite motivating for newbies. It's a great way to help them.
However, lowering the existing 80 to 60 means that it is difficult for users operating below it to manage.

How about setting it to 70 instead of 60?

This can give you a 30 hour slack in excess of 24 hours a day.
Also, with the benefit of 'Long Gone Before Daylight', the burden of going from 79 to 99 stamina seems to be reduced.

-What I mean is, if you're going to update, the proportions matter.

It is clear that having new users is always a good thing.
However, users who make up most of the game will have to live below 60...

To be fair, the 'lower level equipment grinders' window has only been reduced by 11, not 20. They used to have a window of 70, between 10 and 80. Now, they have a window of 1-60, so 59. I'd say that this change did take proportions into account.

I hope those low lvl arena won't be disabled too, could hide them or reverse the order if annoying, keep them available else where if needed.
Just not forced to shut them, instead to have option to keep them.

Misc
- Stamina is now considered "Exhausted" if it drops below 1 (used to be 10). You cannot start a new battle if your stamina is below 2.

I have a question for the FAQ.

Stamina always displays as between 1-99 inclusive, as far as I'm aware. If exhausted is < 1, rather than <= 1, does that mean it's possible to have 0 stamina?

Edit: oh, also - can you tell us what the new title, from the 500 arena, grants? (As in - is it meant to be an upgrade over Dovahkin, or is it a different choice?)

QUOTE(Nezu @ your DW is soft teehee) *

Even though I knew you had a lot of success with DW in last season's tower, I was expecting you would stall at some point based upon your description of your strategy (using offense to protect yourself eventually wouldn't work).

I'm not sure I had the best nonstandard 1H tower setup, but I know there were a few others playing like me. I had the idea for a playstyle that could rise unlimited floors in the towers with enough time regardless of even if enemies reached nearly unlimited damage per hit.

It seemed to be working. I only had time to clear 53 floors, but the higher floors were not getting noticeably harder for me. They were possibly even getting easier, because I was such a low level (300 to begin the pfudor floors) that my leveling was almost outracing the stronger monsters.

My equipment was pretty bad and most of it had no upgrades, with some having very cheap upgrades. Amusingly I even found an unexpected advantage with Magnificents lacking a PAB because that pushed them into a lower development materials tier, for dramatically reduced upgrade costs.

Anyway, I wanted to point out though that the big difference in defense between 1H and DW, which arises from the counter attack stuns, becomes much less if you have a defensive 1H setup (multiple equipment builds are possible to achieve this). Arguably it can even become identical if you have DW club + waki and use an unorthodox spread DW playstyle I suggested back then (I don't know if it would actually work, it was just an idea that had potential, and could become the best if certain mechanics were tweaked just slightly).

-----------------

I've never used OFC or Fusrodah myself, but I think OFC should be outlawed from Isekai in principle if Fusrodah is. And if Fusrodah is introduced to Isekai then probably it would become a way to clear unlimited floors of the tower.
