QUOTE(Nezu @ Apr 1 2022, 21:46) HVMarket will be permanently closed for personal health reasons.
When the account is unbanned, it should continue automatically sending out stock. It's also now configured properly to no longer receive new mails. Any items that were collected in this time were still recorded and will still be returned. The order in which the items is returned may be chaotic and due to rate limitations, it may still take several days to return all stock (there's still about half of it remaining, across over 10,000 separate stock records). All credits should also be accounted for. The only players that may lose something are those who return recalls (which are not tracked, if I recall, due to edge cases with the special MoogleMail sender) and those who changed their username without ever updating their HVMarket account.
I am also retiring from HV for the foreseeable future. I apologise to everyone who was inconvenienced by this abrupt and irresponsible shutdown process. And thank you for participating in HVMarket - I made it because I wanted it to exist for myself as a player too, and it would not have been possible without community acceptance, adoption and feedback. Especially thank you to Shank, megawife-acc, firew, Literal Genie, KitsuneAbby, zhenterzzf, Ming28561, translators and foreign-language guide writers, Ikki Pop (your UI script was really cool!), Xeda, Jake643, and more.
Also thanks to Tenboro for the special exceptions made to allow HVMarket to exist, and to Superlatanium, sssss2 and sickentide for their services & scripts - without that work I doubt I would have ever been inspired to learn to do more, nor would I have envisioned a simple browser game with such a small community to be vibrant enough that it would support a whole ecosystem of extensions and interactive platforms beyond its own minor footprint on the overall site.
I wish you all the very best. - Nezu
Noni edit: HVMarket account is now unbanned and should be resuming automatic return/payout. QUOTE(Nezu @ Apr 6 2022, 03:40) Item send-outs have resumed. Sorry about the delay. It's probably still gonna take a little while and I'm going to check in on it until it's properly emptied.
I'm not willing to make HVMarket's code public in part because I'm aware of some flaws in it that I don't have the energy to fix right now, but also because it's just not very well managed as a project. I have not worked in the field before and I had not used many of the technologies involved before. I could offer advice and my knowledge about some of the edge cases when I've got time - the only part of the HVMarket code that might save anyone time is just knowing the branching paths in the mail system, and it's probably easier to relay that in English.
I can save a little time and advise against it [i.e. recreating HVMarket] for now, except in collaboration with Tenboro if an easier MoogleMail API were made accessible. The current interface is cumbersome (specifically regarding tracking CoD payments as the credit log is prone to missing entries, and the special MoogleMail sender & its functions in general) for programmer extension, and that will take time to navigate and properly test.
Later in the year I'm hoping to be back to spending more time at a desk programming. I have another project I want to work on. But if there's anything interesting going on in HV then I'll have a look at it and see if I can help.

QUOTE(Benny-boy @ Mar 18 2020, 12:18) Double this, tax should at least be included in total
I set some items the same price with my shop, and it's 5% discount at my shop while buyers get 5% taxed in market. hum... 'cheaper at origin' sounds reasonable.

QUOTE(DJNoni @ Mar 18 2020, 08:09) Can I suggest that you display the actual price that we have to pay to get the item? Now it shows the value that the seller gets, not the value that the buyer gets.
i'd say to include both. something like: CODE Item1: 100k (105k to buyer) Item2: 80k (84k to buyer)

From the screens, it looks really neat. Is there a discussion on the project in some other thread where you mention how long it took you to complete it? >Please put requests for features here. Two feature requests: 1. Please add an option of automatically changing HVMarket account's password by PMing to HVMarket's forum account a specific command. This will allow accessing the HVmarket website through free proxy services with a "burner" password and then swiftly changing said password through an official channel (the forum), once the proxy connection has done its job and been closed. 2. >Regarding resellers: if someone tries to buy things and artificially raise prices of any item, they will be banned from HVMarket. Please expand this paragraph a bit to include the Market's position on slightly different cases: when there's just a demand at a higher price than the HVMarket's current supply offers (thus there is no need for the reseller to actively hoard to raise prices, but they can still benefit by buying and instantly reselling). I am not trying to argue in favour of either direction, just for an unabmigiuous statement to be included. Also, thanks for the implementation. Something like this will probably happen in future QUOTE(Elevens @ Mar 19 2020, 22:22) From the screens, it looks really neat. I am not trying to argue in favour of either direction, just for an unabmigiuous statement to be included. Also, thanks for the implementation. 1) No, this will not be done. The only part of HVMarket which is truly automated is checking the credits log (for paid CoDs - essential to its behaviour). I do not want to expand the scope for automation beyond this, because it risks triggering various bot checks & protections that may compromise its ability to perform normally (think hitting rate limits, etc). 2) Part of the reason it may be ambiguous is because I wanted to post the market rules in as simple English as possible, since we're serving a lot of language communities, many of which do not auto-translate from English very well. What it specifically refers to is someone trying to buy out everything and resell at a much higher price. (This is not sustainable long-term and most likely not profitable at all, in a game with unrestricted supply available to all, but HV wealth inequality is severe enough that there are many players who could inconvenience other players for significant time periods doing this.) I will consider if I can rephrase it when I next edit the thread.

While a minor detail, I would suggest to add even more hyperlinks: when searching by item, seller name could be a hyperlink to search by seller (like hyperlinks in browse sellers page) and, more importantly, when searching by seller for items to be hyperlinked to search by item (like hyperlinks in browse items page). Likewise, same item hyperlinks could be great on "your listings" page, and both seller and item hyperlinks in "your transactions" pages, or, hell, "recent sales" too, if anyone uses that. Just something to make navigation faster, and i honestly don't think this would be too hard to implement (why not have all item names link to that item page and seller/buyer name to their search by seller page, shouldn't be a problem that some page links would just link to the same page you are already on).

yes, great idea! But I would also want to see this before I click 'buy', not only in the moogle mail. That's too late for me. That doesn't solve the real problem: that I click a flower vase at 12.5k but in fact it's more expensive than in other shops. This post has been edited by DJNoni: Mar 21 2020, 14:28

After I recalled some of my items, it still showed on the list. Is this a bug? I temporarily set the price to be 0, so it will not appear on the list.

I found an error with the recall function earlier & deployed a fix for it earlier this morning, and then there was a spelling error in that fix which I noticed about an hour later. I think it is working correctly now; if you still have the same problem, please let me know.

It seems that the system still keeps the number of my recalled items, so it resent the item. I keep it in the mail that you can take them back. I still have Binding of the Ox on the list that I have already recalled.

Oh dear - this is exactly the bug I tried to fix. I'll continue investigating, and monitoring the mails to make sure nobody is receiving a double recall for now. I have removed the Binding of the Ox listing manually.

Can you make a view cart page instead of just the update button?
It can even include the tax needed to be paid there.

There will probably be multi-purchasing soon but I do not think a shopping cart is the way it will be implemented... (Also, the update button might not do what you think it does - all it does is forces the site to check HVMarket's mooglemail inbox.)

I would still like the tax-included view
