Over the years there have been various requests to modify the banner template or otherwise update and adjust it, but there always was some hesitance or pushback due to certain aspects of the original banner being lost to time, as well as copy consistency with the rest of the site. The most common complaint/request had to do with the title text of the banner. Now that the banner takes more of a back seat and with more submissions adding their own creative overlays on top of that title text, dealing with rasterized text with applied effects can sometimes cause more work than not. I guess after over 10000 downloads of the previous banner template that I created in 2009 it is time to do something about it.
After some consideration and talking it through with
ikki. and Tenboro, I will now test run an updated banner template which now includes what I believe to be the original fonts used. Initially ikki. was diligently attempting to recreate the title text by manually vectorizing the text into vector masks and their third iteration was very close to the original; if it weren't for finding the fonts we would have ikki. to thank for vectored text.

I hope these changes are a welcome one, please let me know in thread or by PM if you come across any issues.
What has changed:
- Added a folder in the ZIP archive containing two TrueType fonts:
- Bitsumishi Regular for the main title
- BM-japan-A12 for the sub title
- The template PSD itself have been updated with:
- A folder containing text layers which contain the banner text, preformatted to match as closely as I could manage to the original banner, separated for individual manipulation
- A rasterized copy of the banner text above (also separated for individual manipulation) for those that do not wish to work with the text layers, do not wish to install the fonts, or are using online editing software that cannot use custom fonts.
- The word "Adult" in the sub title has been moved 1 pixel to the left to line up and square the sub title with the main title.
- The three default PNGs included for those who cannot open .PSD have been updated to use the new font layers.
If you are using a dedicated image editor application, to use the new fonts it is merely a matter of installing them.
- On Windows: Right click on the Font file and choose Install or double click to preview the font before clicking install
- On MacOS: Open the Font Book app, select File > Add Fonts to Current User, and choose the fonts to install.
- On Linux: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Welcome to the 219th Monthly E-Hentai Banner Contest!
A test of creativity open to any registered user that wishes to participate.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Banners will be voted and ranked by our gallery and forum
janitors staff, and results will be posted in the banner contest thread generally within the first few days of the month.
Those banners meeting a minimum point threshold will be featured on the
News Page of the E-Hentai Galleries. In addition, each banner contestant that wins will be awarded Hath based on their placement:
1st through 3rd place: 500 Hath
4th place and lower: 300 Hath
Rules:- Use the banner template found here:
2025_E_Hentai_Banner_Template.zip ( 87.58k )
Number of downloads: 39
- This banner template is in PSD format with the banner title isolated from the background with both typed text and rasterized flavors provided.
- In the work paths of the file, horizontal limit recommendations have been included as a guide to where the banner title would be best located. The spacing suggested works best with even numbers of characters; split between each side, or three characters; two on one side and one on the other.
- In addition to the PSD file, PNG copies of the banner with the banner title justified left, right, and center are also provided for those who lack the means to edit PSD files.
- Submitted banners must be submitted as a PNG image file, preferably as a forum attachment.
- Banners may not be animated, even in PNG format.
- Each person may only submit one banner.
- In the event of multiple submissions the first banner that appears in the thread will be used.
- If you need to modify your banner entry post initial submission, please edit your posts so that your updated banner is either your first or only entry in the contest thread.
- There must be at least one female character present in the banner.
- Male characters are not permitted.
- Absolutely no nudity is allowed.
- Partially exposed lolicon characters that, by way of convenient censoring or cropping, are rendered not nude will be grounds for disqualification as well.
- *NOTHING* (characters, shadows, backgrounds, accessories, banner title, et al) shall touch or be cropped against the left or right edges of the banner.
- Both the main title and sub title must line up with each other horizontally.
- The banner title should not be heavily edited or obscured beyond clear and obvious recognition.
- The banner title may be moved horizontally as long as it satisfies the rest of rule 6, but please consider balance and viewability.
- The banner title may not be moved vertically.
- Less of a rule and more of a suggestion: Characters should either be from the same series, be in the same or similar art style, or connected by some kind theme (i.e. catgirls, Christmas, bunnies, mod suggested,
Airddragon, etc)- The banner contest poster may suggest themes in the thread topic description or at the beginning of the contest, but by no means are you required to follow that suggestion.
- Use of characters from IPs owned by aggressively protective companies (such as Blizzard or miHoYo [Genshin Impact] as an example) however is prohibited. (Ask if you are unsure)
- Though admirable, please do not include artist credit or signatures within the banner or banner art.
You must understand that I love you all. Except Spectre.
Please be mindful of some basic considerations regarding your chosen artwork, in particular to visual clarity. If you are unsure whether any part of your banner may be at odds with the rules, feel free ask in the banner contest thread, or alternatively look at past entries in this subforum to see what other users have submitted.
If you wish to preview a banner as it would look on the website but do not want to manually modify url paths in the browser console you can try a script provided by hzqr:
[
gist.github.com]
https://gist.github.com/anonymous/009b0c272...5061ae4b8a635bdThis script allows you to double click the banner already in place on the
News Page, and either preview in place your banner saved on your computer or load another image from a URL.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Banner entries are due by: March 25th (ish).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good luck, and have fun! The E-Hentai staff always look forward to seeing what new banners are cooked up each month.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask here in the contest thread itself, or PM me directly.
