Hello artists!

Help me design a catgirl badge because I'm too lazy/unskilful to do it!
Below are the prizes for the entries, and all entries are judged by me alone:

1st prize: 400 haths (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
2nd & 3rd prize: 100 haths

And the rest will have 100 haths divided equally among the rest of the participants.

I'll end this contest whenever someone has submitted a badge that I want to use badly and I have started using said badge.

If there're no 2nd / 3rd / subsequent places, all remaining reward will be given to the 1st place.

In order to qualify for 1st place, I'll have to be able to use the badge you designed by submitting it to Tenboro, and if he had any complaints, I'd probably need you to modify the badge.

Badge design requirements:
- Submit both animated PNG format and the format of the image software you used (e.g. Individual frames in PSD format)
- Post the animated PNG in this thread, and PM me the images.
- 150x26 PNG format
- Must work against both light and dark theme
- Not seizure inducing
- Animated PNG!
- Transparent background!
- Not more than 30kb file size
- Using the below attached images
- Deisgn the badge, animating Momiji's ears and and the tip of Marisa's hat moving up and down.
- Another thing to animate is the stars shooting endlessly from the bottom-middle to the top-right of the badge (starting from small stars, ending with big stars) as illustrated below.
- Rotating stars as it shoots
- Momiji's hat and ears needs to be seen completely

Well, I've made a regual test frame.

It comes out to 4.95kb, assuming that every frame had a similar impact on the file size, a 30kb limit would only allow for 6 frames at the most.

For the best results animation wise, the numbers of totals frames needs to be the lowest common denominator, between the number of unique frames the heads with get and the number of unique frames the stars would get.

If the heads got 3 unique frames, and the stars got 6 unique frames, then 6 would be fine because 6 is the lowest common denominator between 3 and 6.

Just for fun I'd make something with this cutie pie eating stars but I've yet to practice making apng's so it'd probably be way over 30kb and wouldn't look right anyway..

I made the sprites needed for this. But it turns out the idea of manually animating particle effects is my kryptonite. So I'm out.

I tried it too, had the eyes and mouth animated but when I shrunk it all down and realized I had to put the other girl in there too.. Nevermind, I hate working with such tiny pictures. 150x26 is too small, the star going in her mouth is like 3 pixels big. >_<

Oh wait, I just remembered that I have Flash 8, which can export frames as PNGs, this might not be out of my comfort zone after all.

I have an idea of the eating stars layout. Momiji would be in the left eating the stars that Marisa in the right is shooting out. I want to include Marisa in the badge because well... she's somehow related to / deal with stars and sparks in the Touhou fandom.

All right then. I've loaded the needed graphics into Flash, which can handle star rotation and placement for me. I just have to take care of the positioning the stars so they loop seamlessly when played as an apng.

And here is a viability test.Note the sprites you see are asset based, so changing them for the animation is as easy as swapping the file out. If there is anything else you would like changed, you should tell me. Otherwise, I'm just waiting for your approval, so I can add in 7 more stars to this animation.
(9 frames, 26kb) (Note that I've spotted the looping error and I have fixed it in the source file.)

Note that I'm now using a decticated program from making animated PNGs now instead of a clunky plugin. This mean a lower file size and no more bugs that save the image wrong.
