It's been a while since we've had a 'Beryl is really irked and needs to vent' thread, and the old Spamhaus sticky has run it's course.

In lieu of a full blown STOP BEING FUCKING RETARDED post, I'm just going to leave this here.

Although I agree to this idea, you must remember that, there are already to many sanctioned spam threads out there, and in one way or another this will be a spam thread. So why not just pick a specific and already open thread for spam and point out for anyone who comes along from now on as: Hey if you want the 5% exp and don't care for post content, spam there"

So. if I post LOL in reply to a thread. Does it mean I am violating the second rule, since I am not contributing substantially to the thread. Just my opinion of the thread.

Could we have a system where threads that have not had a reply in over 30 days become automatically archived, so that existing replies cannot be edited and new replies cannot be added? This would help against necroing.

But more importantly, can we please do something about spam incentives for the forum? I come here so rarely because there's nothing to ever talk about. There are meaningless threads of pages upon pages of spam about what you did today, what items you got today from your monsters, etc. None of it is discourse -- It's just people talking at a wall to get their bonuses. It fosters a generally decreased level of discussion throughout the entire forum because spam threads and other impenetrable topics of hundreds of pages that constantly cover the first page of threads.
