Type:Attribute
Description: Participation of humanoid characters which have no identifiable name or are otherwise not taggable in the 'character' namespace.
Note:Does not apply to original galleries. Does not apply to animals or monsters.

I know, I know, this would be tagged on many galleries, but so what, give it few years. It is useful on two levels:
* as a fetish (some people want to see anons instead of canon characters, to some degree it is -vanilla pairing tag).
* technical (controlling for this and known named characters would make it easier to see galleries which need one of those tags; of course doesn't apply to galleries with multiply characters well, but that's true for most tags).

Humanoid is used to ensure people don't tag galleries with animals or monsters or such. Feel free to refine. Also, note to not add on monsters etc. is to avoid people arguing 'orcs may have names', etc.

"are otherwise not taggable in the 'character' namespace" is there to ensure people are not confused in cases some mostly anon protag gets an offhand name invented by the author, super rare cases but happens.

This may be better in character namespace instead of the usual fetish one...

Finally, remember it is not possible nor likely to be implemented to be be able to search for "galleries with character x but nobody else". This would at least partially address this lack of functionality.

I'm not seeing any reason at all for this. Do we really want to create tags whose purpose is simply to tell us that a different tag might be missing.

You're right, this is certainly a crazy idea, so obviously we don't need it.

If you want something in the vein of p:original but for characters go poke Tenboro; such things are only viable via the autotagger.

When I see anon, all I could think is a faceless male character.

I like this idea. Not the name though, it also reminded me of faceless.

But I see the appeal in having a parody girl getting it on with some random nobody instead of a parody guy.

In the same way the parody autotagger (presumably) works, if it doesn't have a parody after x time, give it the parody:original tag. (it might not work this way, I haven't looked and just guessing tbh)

An example where that wouldn't work is the male is non canon and the female is, so you probably would want to tag it manually. The problem with tagging it manually that I can see though, is that you'd have to expect the tagger to know ALL of the characters in a given series. So, when you're reading a fate hentai, you'd have to know that the bloke or gal in question isn't one of the 500+ characters from that series.

Well, on my to do list I have for example p:sayonara+zetsubou+sensei where as far as I can see nobody bothered to tag anyone, even through many pass presence. So no autotagger for this, there are too many possible errors.

This has to be a regular tag, probably for character namespace, that will slowly get populated on relevant galleries. It's not hard to tag, it's just is relatively common.

I mean, what I'd really like is a technical tag for 'tag this character', but that's not happening with the current system, sigh.

If you read my post again, you'll find that I agreed with you, I was saying that an autotagger couldn't work (to fit in with OP's requirements, anyway)

I also made an argument as to why tagging manually also wouldn't work. To be able to know that a character is an anon, without it being faceless, the tagger would have to know every character in the series, which makes it a problem for series with hundreds of characters (see fate, for example). I'm not saying it won't be obvious in most cases, most said characters will probably look generic/don't fit in with the style of the series, but you can't know for certain. Imagine every time it gets posted to upvote in the tagging and it's abuse board, having to go to the wiki of the series and checking every single character to double check.

I would absolutely love a means to flag galleries that are missing tags (whether the tag already exists or not can be 2 separate flags) or are in need of a rename.

In theory, it is as easy as creating tags for those flagged ideas....
